Ajmiriganj Upazila (Habiganj district) with an area of 223.98 sq km is surrounded by Sullah and Itna upazila on the northwest, Baniachang upazila on the east, Mithamain upazila on the south. 

Main rivers are Kalni, Kushiyra and Bheramahana. Beel 4. 

Ajmiriganj (Town) consists of 2 mouzas. The area of the town is 5.73 sq km. The town has a population of 13829; male 52.85%, female 47.15%. Literacy rate among the town people is 22.4%. The town has one dakbungalows. 

Administration Ajmiriganj Thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. It consists of five unions, 68 mouzas and 79 villages. 

Historical events During the War of Liberation in 1971 a eighteen hours direct encounter between the freedom fighters and the Pak army was held on 16 November in which freedom fighter Jagatyoti was killed. Besides, the Pak army killed 11 innocent villagers.
