Bamna Upazila (Barguna district) with an area of 101.05 sq km is surrounded by Patharghata and Barguna upazilas on the south, Bishkhali river and Betagi upazila on the east,Mathbaria upazila on the west and Kathalia upazila on the north. 

Bishkali is the main river.

Bamna (Town) consists of 2 mouzas. It has an area of 5.41 sq km. The town has a population of 6289; male 51.28%, female 48.72%; density of population is 1161 per sq km. The town has 2 dakbungalows.

Administration Bamna thana was established in 1968 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 4 union parishads, 39 mouzas and 49 villages.

Archaeological heritage and relics Remnants of the boundary walls of the estate of a local zamindar of early 18th century. Population 65965; male 49.64%, female 50.36%; Muslim 91.57%, Hindu 8.41% and others 0.02%.
