Chuadanga Sadar Upazila (Chuadanga district) with an area of 289.59 sq km is surrounded by Alamdanga upazila on the north, Jibannagar upazila on the south, Jhenaidaha, Kotchandpur and Harinakunda upazilas on the east, Damurhuda upazila and West Bengal (State of India) on the west.
Main rivers are Nabaganga, Chitra and Bhairab.
Chuadanga (Town) stands on the bank of the river Mathabanga. It consists of 9 wards and 41 mahallas. It is municipal a town and though established such as in 1960, the municipality became functional in 1965. The town has an area of 36.12 sq km. It has a population of 72081; male 50.13%, female 49.87%. Literacy rate among the town people is 48%.
Administration Chuadanga Sadar thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of one municipality, three wards, 5 union parishads, 131 mouzas and 129 villages.Archaeological heritage and relics Three domed Chuadanga Bara Mosque.
Historical events During the War of Liberation the Pak army established their camp in the Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. The Pak army killed about 300 persons on a spot behind the Hospital (presently Shantipara). A direct encounter was held between the freedom fighters and the Pak army at village Pirpur on the Chuadanga Carpaddanga Road. While withdrawing from Chaudanga the Pak army destroyed part of the bridge on the river Mathabhanga by bombing.
