Dighalia Upazila (Khulna district) with an area of 77.16 sq km. is surrounded by Abhaynagar and Kalia upazila on the north, Khalishpur upazila and Rupsha upazila on the south, Terokhada upazila on the east, Daulatpur upazila,Khan Jahan Ali thana and Abhaynagar upazila on the west 

Main rivers are Bhairab, Chitra, Nabaganga. 

Administration Dighalia thana was turned into an upazila in 1987. It consists of 4 union parishads, 28 mouzas and 41 villages.
