Dighinala Upazila (Khagrachri district) with an area of 694.12 sq km, is surrounded by Indian State of Tripura on the north,Langadu upazila on the south, Bagaichari upazila on the east, Tripura (India), Panchari and Khagrachari Sadar upazilas on the west. 

Dighinala (Town) consists of one mouza. It has an area of 10.36 sq km. The town has a population of 8869; male 53.66% and female 46.34%; population density per sq km 856. Literacy rate among the town people is 38.7%. It has one dakbungalow. 

Administration Dighinala thana was established in 1923 and was turned into an upazila in 1985. The upazila consists of five union parishads, 20 mouzas and 140 villages. 

Population 50933; male 51.50%, female 48.5%; Muslim 37.29%, Hindu 10.75%; Buddhist 51.80% and others 0.16%.

Main crops paddy, ginger, turmeric, cotton, til, hilly potato, kachu (variety of arum) and vegetables. 

Main fruits banana and jackfruit. Traditional transport Bullock cart (nearly extinct). 

Manufactories Rice mill, saw mill, weaving mill, iron works. 

Cottage industries Goldsmith, weaving, wood work, tailoring. 

Main hats, bazars and fairs The most noted hats and bazars are Meroong, Boalkhali, Dighinala, Kobakhali, Barochhara and Naraichhari.
