Gabtali Upazila (Bogra district) with an area of 239.60 sq km, is surrounded by Shibganj Bogra) and Sonatala upazilas on the north, Dhunat upazila on the south, Sariakandi on the east,Bogra Sadar upazila on the west. 

Gabtali (Town) consists of one mouza. It has an area of 3.57 sq km. Population 2789; male 52.99%, female 47.01%; density of population is 2305 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 53.6%. The town has one dakbungalow. 

Administration Gabtali thana was established in 1914 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 11 union parishads, 106 mouzas and 213 villages.
