Kishoreganj Upazila (Nilphamai district) with an of area 264.98 sq km is surrounded by Jaldhaka and Kaliganj upazilas on the north, Taraganj upazila on the south, Gangachara upazila on the east and Nilphamari Sadar and Saidpur upazilas on the west.
Main rivers are Ghaghat, Tista, Bullai, Jamuneshwari.
Kishoreganj (Town) stands on both sides of the river Jamuneshwari, consists of three mouzas. It has an area of 4.13 sq km. The town has a population of 5698; male 51.91%, female 48.09%; The density of population is 1379 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 32.6%. The town has one dakbungalow.
Administration Kishoreganj thana was established in 1921 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 11 union parishads, 70 mouzas and 72 villages.
