Lakshmichhari Upazila (Khagrachari district) with an area of 215.80 sq km, is surrounded by Mahalchari and Ramgarh upazilas on the north, Kawkhali (Rangamai) and fatikchari upazilas on the south, Nanerchari and Mahalchhari upazilas on the east, Manikchari and Fatikchhari upazilas on the west. 

There are many small hilly chharas and waterfalls. 

Lakshmichhari (Town) consists of one mouza. It has an area of 7.77 sq km. The town has a population of 1086; male 59.12% and female 40.88%; population density per sq km 140. Literacy rate among the town people is 36.2%. The town has two dakbungalows. 

Administration Lakshmichhari thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of three union parishads, 16 mouzas and 122 villages.
