Langadu Upazila (Rangamati district) with an area of 388.5 sq km, is surrounded by baghaichhari and Dhiginala upazilas on the north,Barkal upazila on the south and east,Rangamati Sadar,Nanerchar,Mahalchari, andKhagrachari Sadar upazilas on the west. 

Main river is Maini. Kaptai Lake occupies about one third area of the upazila.

Langadu (Town) consists of two mouzas. The area of the town is 85.47 sq km. The town has a population of 11871; male 54.68%, female 45.32%. Literacy rate among the town people is 38.2%. The town has one dakbungalow.

Administration Langadu thana was established in 1909 and was turned into an upazila in 1982. It consists of 7 union parishads, 24 mouzas and 131 villages.

Historical events During the War of Liberation a direct encounter was held between the freedom fighters and the Pak army. In 1996 the Santibahini killed 35 woodcutters at Charuakhali Reserve Forest.

Population 54490; male 53.01%, female 46.99%; Muslim 75.85%, Hindu 1.8%, Buddhist 22.05% and others 0.3%.
