Lohagara Upazila (Chittagong district) with an area of 258.87 sq km, is bounded by Satkania upazila on the north, Chakaria andLama upazilas on the south, Bandarban and Lama upazilas on the east, Banshkhali upazila on the west. 

Noted canals are Tonkaboti, Dolu and Hadar. 

Lohagara (Town) consists of one mouza. The area of the town is 9.78 sq km. The town has a population of 22294; male 53.89% and female 46.11%. Population density per sq km 2280. Literacy rate among the town people is 42.7%. 

Administration Lohagara thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 9 union parishads, 40 mouzas and 43 villages.

Archaeological heritage and relics Mochhdia Buddhist Temple (Adhunagar, 18th century). 

Historical events During the War of Liberation the Pakistan army killed 15 villagers at Banikpara of Amirabad. The freedom fighters killed 17 Razakars at Jotpukuria.
