Madan Upazila (Netrokona district) with an area of 225.85 sq km, is surrounded by Mohanganj upazila on the north, Itna and Tarail upazilas on the south, Khaliajuri upazila on the east, Kendua upazila on the west. 

Main rivers are Dhanu, Dhalai, Baruni. 

Madan (Town) consists of 5 mouzas. The area of the town is 15.61 sq km. The town has a population of 10662; male 52.45%, female 47.55%. The density of population is 683 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 34.4%. 

Administration Madan thana was established in 1917 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 8 union parishads, 95 mouzas and 120 villages. 

Population 17613; male 50.99%, female 49.1%; Muslim 92.31%, Hindu 7.36%, Christian and Buddhist 0.12% and others 0.21%.

Hats and bazars Hats and bazars are 17, most noted which are Deoan, Arshir, Govindasree, Joibangla and Kaital Hat.
