Nagarkanda Upazila (Faridpur district) with an area of 379.02 sq km, is surrounded by Faridpur Sadar and Char Bhadrasan upazilas on the north,Muksudpur and Boalmari upazilas on the south, Bhanga and Sadarpur upazilas on the east, Char Bhadrasan upazila on the northeast and Boalmari upazila on the west. 

Main rivers are Old Kumar, Bhubaneshwar and Shitalakshya. 

Nagarkanda (Town) consists of 9 wards and 12 mahallas. The area of the town is 8.15 sq km. It has a population of 9684; male 51.95%, female 48.05%. The density of population is 1188 per sq km. The literacy rate among the town people is 35.9%. 

Administration Nagarkanda thana, now an upazila, was established in 1906. The upazila consists of 17 union parishads, 239 mouzas and 335 villages.
