Niamatpur Upazila (Naogaon district) with an area of 448.60 sq km, is surrounded by Porsha upazila on the north, Tanore and Nachole upazilas on the south, Manda and Mahadevpur upazilas on the east, Gomastapur and Nachole upazilas on the west. 

Main River is Shiba. 

Niamatpur (Town) consists of 9 wards and 12 mahallas. The area of the town is 3.01 sq km. It has a population of 17207; male 53.26%, female 46.74%. Literacy rate among the town people is 46.3%. It has two dakbungalows. 

Administration Niamatpur thana, now an upazila, was established in 1918. It consists of 8 union parishads, 317 mouzas, 335 villages. 

Historical events During the War of Liberation the Pakistan army made a surprise attack on village Tabicha in April and killed many people. They also looted and burnt the village.
