Pahartali Thana (Chittagong district) with an area of 46.62 sq km, is surrounded by Sitakunda upazila on the north,Double Mooring and Bandar (Chittagong) thanas on the south, Panchlaish and Double Mooring thanas on the east, Bay of Bengal on the west.
The Foy`s Lake is located in this thana.

Historical events During 1920s Mastarda Surya Sen and his compatriots strengthened the anti British movement by occupying Pahartali Railway Club and Dampara Police Line. Pritilata Wadeddar, one of the main associates of Surya Sen, committed suicide at the time of occupying the Railway Club to avoid arrest. During the War of Liberation the Pak army killed many innocent people in the area.
