Pakundia Upazila (Kishoreganj district) with an area of 180.52 sq km, is surrounded by Hossainpur and Kishoreganj Sadar upazilas on the north, Kapasia and Monohardi upazilas on the south, Katiadi upazila on the east,Gaffargaon upazila on the west. 

Main rivers are Old Brahmaputra, Narasunda and Banar. 

Pakundia (Town) consists of three mouzas. The town has an area of 5.02 sq km. It has a population of 4773; male 52.99%, female 47.01%. Literacy rate among the town people 42.3%. 

Administration Pakundia thana, now an upazila, was established in 1932. The upazila consists of 10 union parishads, 97 mouzas and 170 villages. 

Archaeological heritage and relics Fort of Isa Khan at Egarasindur and mosque at village Salanga (Mughal period).
