Santhia Upazila (Pabna district) with an area of 331.56 sq km, is surrounded by Faridpur (Pabna) and Shahjadpur upazilas on the north, Sujanagar upazila on the south, Bera upazila on the east, Atgharia and Pabna Sadar upazilas on the west. 

Main rivers are Hurasagar and Ichamati; noted depressions: Ghugudaha, Gargar and Gang Bhangar Beel. 

Santhia (Town) consists of 9 wards and 26 mahallas. The area of the town is 5.44 sq km. The town has a population of 33369 male 52.05%, female 47.95%. The density of population is 6134 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 34%. 

Administration Santhia thana, now an upazila, was established in 1905. It consists of 11 union parishads, 177 mouzas and 253 villages.
