Sitakunda Upazila (Chittagong district) with an area of 483.97 sq km, is surrounded by Mirsharai upazila on the north, Pahartali thana on the south, Fatikchhari, Hathazari and Panchlaish upazilas on the east, Sandwip upazila and Sandwip Channel on the west. 

Sitakunda (Town) consists of 9 wards and 21 mahallas. It has a population of 34530; male 50.50%, female 49.50%. 

Administration Sitakunda thana was established in 1899 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of one municipality, 11 union parishads, 61 mouzas and 107 villages.
