Sullah Upazila (Sunamganj district) with an area of 260.74 sq km, is surrounded by Derai upazila on the north, Itna and Azmiriganj upazilas on the south, Baniachang and Ajmiriganj upazilas on the east, Khaliajuri and Itna upazilas on the west.
Main rivers are Kalni Kushiyara, Surma, Piayin, Satua; main depressions are Chhaiyar, Chakai, Varoa, Chaptar, Veramohana and Haoa haors.
Sullah (Town) located at Gungiargaon. The town consists of 2 mouzas. The area of the town is 3.79 sq km. It has a population of 2569; male 55.16%, female 44.84%; density of population is 678 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 47.4%. There is a rest house in the town.
Administration Sullah thana was established in 1919 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. It consists of 4 union parishads, 68 mouzas, 114 villages.
