Tazumuddin Upazila (Bhola district) with an area of 512.92 sq km, is surrounded by Daulatkhan upazila on the north, Lalmohan and Manpura upazilas on the south, Hatiya upazila on the east, Burhanuddin upazila on the west. Shabajpur Channel covers the half of total area of the upazila. 

Tazumuddin (Town) consists of two mouzas. The area of the town is 13.7 sq km. It has a population of 15747; male 52.07%, female 47.93%; density of population is 1149 per sq km. Literacy rate of the town is 35.2%. It has one dakbungalow. 

Administration Tazumuddin Thana was turn into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 5 union parishads, 16 mouzas and 62 VILLAGEs.

Historical events About 22 thousand people of the upazila lost their lives in a devastating cyclone and tidal bore in 1970. During the WAR OF LIBERATION seven freedom fighters were killed and one became disabled in encounters with the Pak army.
